About

I have been a competitive racing cyclist since 1972 mainly with the Lindsey Roads Cycling Club, my first race as a schoolboy (under 13) was the English Schools Cycling Association Northern area circuit race championship at Pudsey where I took 2nd place. The following year I won the under 15's ESCA National circuit race championship overcoming Gerry Taylor and Martin Springer.

In the Junior ranks I claimed top placings in the junior Peter Buckley star trophy series coming 3rd & 5th respectively in the Tour of the Peaks  and Tour of the Wolds.

As a Senior I rode for VC Europa backed by Raleigh, and later for the Cherry Valley Racing Team where in 1992 I won the Divisional Road Race and the Lincolnshire Cyclo Cross title's . During my senior racing I achieved many wins and competed at BCF First Cat level.

In 2002 and 2003 I won the BCF & LVRC over 40's National Road Race Title's and I still enjoy competing at a very competative level today.

My personal bests in Time Trials are:

  21:01(10m)     56:25 (25m)      1:57:05 (50m)

I have organised open events and continue to be an active committee member of the Lindsey Roads Cycling Club.  It has always been my intention to give something back to the sport I love so much and now as a fully qualified Coach I am able to do just that.

I have learnt a great deal from personal experiences in reaching the above level over the years and am now more ready than ever to pass on my knowledge.
